The New Jim CrowMass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness
Excellent pop history book. The shock from its contents felt by white readers like me that were reading in the wake of George Floyd's murder has me scratching my head looking back. I'm going to start a private note on ~lt~how America's structures make white and-or wealthy people blind~lt~, because nothing in this book should have surprised me or anyone else. The truth of the matter seems to be that to be privileged in America mean to be free from having to look your society square in the face.
